Voltage Transient Protection & LED Lighting
All Imtra manufactured LED light fixtures and most of our distributed products
incorporate the use of transient voltage suppression diodes for the purpose of
protecting the IC (integrated circuit) against high voltage spikes and transients.
Although lasting only milliseconds, transients will damage sensitive electronics
and LED lights that do not have adequate voltage suppression as part of their SVS Voltage Stabilizer
architecture.
This is the case with many non-marine LED products including commodity
products such as LED rope light and LED tape light. As a precaution when using
these products on boats, we high recommend the use of power conditioners
(aka voltage stabilizers).
Imtra offers a range of Intervolt Power Conditioners for protection of sensitive
electronics and LED lighting against voltage dips, spikes and transients.
